People tell me I need to ‘heal’ to ‘forget about it.’ I don’t think I desire to, even if I can. The pain has made me who I am, as well, as who I know I don’t wish to be. The pain is at times my friend as well as my foe.

Have you ever been to the point in your pain when you walk out into a thundering torrent look to the sky, lightening flashing all around pleading with God you say, “Take me now!”?

My pain has brought me to the point when I can see past it and live with it. Days now are filled with new friends, knowledge, and adventure. The pain still there has burned a path before me. A path I will not allow to be overwhelmed by my past. The pain though still with me, is beneath me now. At times rising up to stir my spirit, but never again to overtake it. The pain reminds me to think twice and shows me, I am still alive.
